Advocating for Rights of All Workers on Labor Day

Once again, the Center for Workers’ Rights celebrated Labor Day with union members and local politicians at the Sacramento Central Labor Council’s Labor Day Picnic held this year at Fairytale Town at William Land Park.

We distributed information about workplace rights for low-wage workers and helped union members appreciate the benefit of their contracts.  We spoke with community members about the impact of new immigration enforcement efforts have had on our work, including the Center’s decision to join local immigration rapid response networks in Sacramento and San Joaquin counties.

We joined labor leader’s call to continue to pressure those in power to seek justice for victims of sexual harassment in the workplace and to make sure all workplaces are free of discrimination and exploitation.
