{"id":1471,"date":"2014-09-26T10:07:59","date_gmt":"2014-09-26T17:07:59","guid":{"rendered":"\/?p=1471"},"modified":"2023-03-24T15:15:46","modified_gmt":"2023-03-24T22:15:46","slug":"opening-of-the-workers-rights-clinic-in-davis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightscenter.org\/es\/news\/opening-of-the-workers-rights-clinic-in-davis\/","title":{"rendered":"Opening of the Workers&#8217; Rights Clinic in Davis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>El 24 de Septiembre de 2014,<sup>th<\/sup>el Centro de Derechos Laborales y la Sociedad de Ayuda Legal-Centro de Derecho Laboral organizaron la primera Cl\u00ednica de Derechos de los Trabajadores en Davis.<\/p>\n<p>La cl\u00ednica cont\u00f3 con 13 voluntarios estudiantes de derecho incre\u00edblemente dedicados de la Facultad de Derecho de UC Davis (King Hall). Pueden asistir a los trabajadores en Espa\u00f1ol, Ruso, Canton\u00e9s, Mandar\u00edn y Farsi. Compuestos en su mayor\u00eda por estudiantes de primer a\u00f1o, nuestros consejeros estudiantiles de Davis recibir\u00e1n una formaci\u00f3n sustantiva en derecho laboral en cada sesi\u00f3n de la cl\u00ednica.  En nuestra primera cl\u00ednica, David Graulich, un abogado laboralista local, hizo una presentaci\u00f3n sobre las leyes de salarios y horarios.  Nuestra presidenta del consejo, Mariko Yoshihara, tambi\u00e9n supervis\u00f3 la cl\u00ednica.<\/p>\n<p>Los problemas a los que se enfrentaron los trabajadores que se pusieron en contacto con nuestra cl\u00ednica inclu\u00edan la discriminaci\u00f3n, el robo de salarios y el desempleo.  Un caso especialmente atroz de maltrato a los trabajadores fue el de un camionero incorrectamente clasificado, que fue despedido tras denunciar una lesi\u00f3n laboral y a quien su empleador se niega ahora a pagarle las tres \u00faltimas semanas que trabaj\u00f3. Si la cl\u00ednica Davis no hubiera estado disponible, este trabajador no habr\u00eda recibido el asesoramiento jur\u00eddico necesario para impugnar su clasificaci\u00f3n err\u00f3nea y se habr\u00eda quedado sin recursos.<\/p>\n<p>La Cl\u00ednica de los Derechos Laborales se celebra en la Iglesia Bautista Pole Line (770 Pole Line Road) en Davis, CA.  Abrimos nuestras puertas a las 6:30 horas.  Los trabajadores pueden llamar a nuestra oficina para concertar una cita y tambi\u00e9n aceptamos visitas sin cita previa.  Los trabajadores que no tienen transporte a la cl\u00ednica tambi\u00e9n pueden programar una cita por tel\u00e9fono.  En el trimestre de Oto\u00f1o 2014, la cl\u00ednica estar\u00e1 abierta los siguientes mi\u00e9rcoles por la tarde: 24 de Septiembre, 8 de Octubre, 22 de Octubre, 5 de Noviembre y 19 de Noviembre.<\/p>\n<p>La apertura de la Cl\u00ednica de Derechos Laborales en Davis aborda una enorme carencia de servicios jur\u00eddicos para los trabajadores de bajos ingresos de la regi\u00f3n.
