Gabriel Maldonado se puso en contacto con el Centro para los Derechos de los Trabajadores en junio de 2020. Se puso en contacto con nosotros porque durante los cuatro a\u00f1os anteriores hab\u00eda trabajado para una empresa de construcci\u00f3n local y hab\u00eda expresado su preocupaci\u00f3n por los salarios impagados, la falta de reembolso de los materiales comprados para la empresa y la falta de pago de las horas extras. Despu\u00e9s de tener una entrevista inicial con uno de nuestros estudiantes voluntarios durante nuestro Consultorio semanal sobre los derechos de los trabajadores, Gabriel fue referido a nuestro Consultorio sobre Reclamaciones Salariales. R\u00e1pidamente se hizo evidente que los empleadores de Gabriel estaban cometiendo varias infracciones laborales, por lo que el CWR decidi\u00f3 ayudarle en el proceso de reclamaci\u00f3n ante la Oficina del Comisionado Laboral.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

A Gabriel se le prometi\u00f3 una tarifa salarial diaria, que s\u00f3lo puede cubrir las horas regulares trabajadas. Sin embargo, a veces ten\u00eda que trabajar horas extras para asegurar el cierre de varios lugares de trabajo, sin la compensaci\u00f3n adecuada. Gabriel tambi\u00e9n recib\u00eda los cheques de pago irregularmente, y a veces no los recib\u00eda en absoluto. Durante los meses siguientes, Gabriel proporcion\u00f3 a los abogados del CWR la documentaci\u00f3n que hab\u00eda conservado mientras trabajaba para su empleador, en la que se detallan las horas que trabajaba, la paga que recib\u00eda y las veces que se quedaba sin compensaci\u00f3n. Gracias a su diligencia y a los conocimientos de nuestros abogados sobre el proceso de reclamaci\u00f3n, nos complace compartir que Gabriel pudo conseguir un acuerdo sustancial.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n
