{"id":3014,"date":"2020-06-30T08:41:46","date_gmt":"2020-06-30T15:41:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rightscenter.org\/?p=3014"},"modified":"2023-08-28T16:07:37","modified_gmt":"2023-08-28T23:07:37","slug":"cwr-helps-enact-city-of-sacramento-worker-protection-ordinance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightscenter.org\/es\/news\/cwr-helps-enact-city-of-sacramento-worker-protection-ordinance\/","title":{"rendered":"CWR ayuda a Promulgar la Ordenanza de Protecci\u00f3n de los Trabajadores de la Ciudad de Sacramento"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El Centro de Derechos Laborales y el Consejo Central Sindical de Sacramento trabajaron conjuntamente con el alcalde de Sacramento, Darrell Steinberg, y con miembros del ayuntamiento para redactar y aprobar la Ordenanza de Protecci\u00f3n, Salud y Seguridad de los Trabajadores de Sacramento (Cap\u00edtulo 5.160.010 y siguientes del C\u00f3digo Municipal de Sacramento), que ha sido aprobada por el ayuntamiento esta tarde.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A trav\u00e9s de nuestras conversaciones con los trabajadores que han llamado a nuestra L\u00ednea de Ayuda para la Protecci\u00f3n Laboral contra el Coronavirus, queda muy claro que los protocolos de seguridad y las protecciones de baja por enfermedad remunerada excluyen a demasiados trabajadores y no protegen a los trabajadores de la expansi\u00f3n del virus. En nuestra carta de apoyo al Consejo Municipal de Sacramento relatamos historias de algunos de los trabajadores que nos han llamado para pedir apoyo:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trabajadores de limpieza de un departamento gubernamental estatal que recibieron material de limpieza inadecuado y ning\u00fan equipo de protecci\u00f3n para esterilizar el lugar de trabajo. Los productos de limpieza eran demasiado d\u00e9biles para eliminar el COVID-19 del lugar de trabajo, poniendo en peligro al personal y al p\u00fablico.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Un empleador de guarder\u00edas que puso en peligro a los empleados y a los ni\u00f1os al no mantener la limpieza del lugar de trabajo y al no cumplir las directrices de cubrirse la cara ni las de distanciarse.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Representantes de un centro de llamadas se vieron expuestos a un riesgo elevado de contraer COVID-19 porque el empresario no aplic\u00f3 las instrucciones de distanciamiento y permiti\u00f3 que los empleados enfermos entrar\u00e1n en el lugar de trabajo. Se coloc\u00f3 a cientos de empleados en la misma sala a una distancia de un brazo.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Personal de un centro m\u00e9dico al que se entreg\u00f3 un equipo de protecci\u00f3n inadecuado; de este modo, corr\u00edan un mayor riesgo de contraer el COVID-19 y de contagiar tanto al p\u00fablico como a otros pacientes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Empleados de ventas expuestos a un riesgo elevado de contraer el COVID-19 porque el empresario no proporcion\u00f3 a los empleados equipos de limpieza ni de protecci\u00f3n, no aplic\u00f3 ni hizo cumplir las pol\u00edticas de uso de mascarillas entre los empleados y los clientes, y no mantuvo la limpieza del lugar de trabajo.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aunque la legislaci\u00f3n actual permite a estos trabajadores pedir a su empresario que cree un entorno de trabajo m\u00e1s seguro, la falta de procedimientos adecuados para hacer cumplir la ley y la imposibilidad de negarse a trabajar en condiciones inseguras sin riesgo sustancial de perder el empleo, permite a los empresarios hacer caso omiso de estas peticiones sin consecuencias.
