El Centro de Derechos Laborales sigue abogando por reformas que mejoren el sistema de beneficios del seguro de desempleo de California. Como organizaci\u00f3n de derechos laborales, hemos visto de primera mano el impacto de las decisiones del EDD a la hora de administrar los beneficios para los trabajadores de bajos ingresos. Hemos hablado con miles de trabajadores durante la pandemia y hemos intentado determinar qu\u00e9 barreras procesales del EDD estaban provocando que no se pagaran los beneficios con rapidez. Nuestros clientes reportaron miedo al desahucio, inseguridad alimentaria e incapacidad para pagar otras necesidades, mientras sus solicitudes de prestaciones permanec\u00edan en el EDD durante meses sin respuesta.<\/span><\/p>\n

El informe del Equipo de Huelga del EDD <\/span>Strike Team report<\/span><\/a> publico el 16 de Septiembre de 2020 corrobor\u00f3 lo que hemos dicho sobre la necesidad de cambio del EDD.
