CWR llega a un Acuerdo con EDD para Resolver Miles de Reclamaciones Actualmente en Estado Pendiente"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El Centro de Derechos Laborales y Altshuler Berzon LLP llegaron a un acuerdo con el Departamento de Desarrollo del Empleo (EDD) para pagar los beneficios del seguro de desempleo (UI) a los demandantes cuya elegibilidad continua EDD es incapaz de resolver dentro de dos semanas. La demanda y la propuesta de acuerdo se presentaron hoy en el Tribunal Superior del Condado de Alameda.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\"Se trata de un cambio monumental por parte del EDD que permitir\u00e1 pagar a tiempo a m\u00e1s reclamantes\", declar\u00f3 Daniela Urban, Directora Ejecutiva del Centro de Derechos Laborales. \"El EDD ha trabajado con nosotros para garantizar que los reclamantes est\u00e9n debidamente informados del impacto de estos pagos condicionales y puedan responder a los problemas de elegibilidad\".\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El Centro de Derechos Laborales ha hablado con miles de solicitantes de UI desde Marzo de 2020 y ha resuelto cientos de casos de solicitantes que no recibieron beneficios para los que eran elegibles.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\"Creemos que este es un gran paso importante para resolver otros problemas identificados por los defensores en el procesamiento de las solicitudes de UI por parte del EDD y esperamos seguir trabajando con el EDD\", dijo Urban.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\"El pago oportuno de los beneficios es esencial para lograr los prop\u00f3sitos del programa de UI, y los beneficiarios de UI en estado de reclamaciones continuas tienen derechos estatutarios y constitucionales al pago continuo de sus beneficios\", dijo Michael Rubin de Altshuler Berzon LLP, abogado del Centro para los Derechos de los Trabajadores. \"Nos complace que el EDD est\u00e9 aplicando estos nuevos procedimientos para garantizar que todos los solicitantes reciban un trato justo y que sus solicitudes se tramiten con eficacia\", a\u00f1adi\u00f3 Rubin.
