Varios representantes y senadores del estado de California estuvieron presentes, incluyendo las Senadoras Maria Elena Durazo y Nancy Skinner. La Representante estatal Cecilia Aguiar Curry dio un apasionado discurso en apoyo a las Trabajadoras Dom\u00e9sticas llamando la atenci\u00f3n sobre las muchas maneras en que, hist\u00f3ricamente, estas trabajadoras vitales han quedado desprotegidas por nuestro sistema actual. Estos problemas del sistema requieren una soluci\u00f3n s\u00f3lida. Con la ayuda de los legisladores estatales, las organizaciones comunitarias y, por supuesto, los trabajadores, seguiremos participando con la CDWC para garantizar un futuro digno para los trabajadores dom\u00e9sticos.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Con el objetivo de crear un impacto durable, un objetivo significativo de nuestro trabajo es abogar por el avance de los derechos en el lugar de trabajo. A trav\u00e9s de nuestra Cl\u00ednica de los Derechos Laborales podemos aprender sobre las barreras y los problemas comunes a los que se enfrentan los trabajadores. Nuestras observaciones nos sirven de base para informar nuestros esfuerzos de promoci\u00f3n. Una vez que hemos identificado un problema, confirmamos nuestras observaciones con otros defensores e investigamos para saber si estamos ante problemas del sistema o problemas centralizados. A continuaci\u00f3n, elaboramos estrategias sobre c\u00f3mo ser\u00eda una resoluci\u00f3n adecuada y c\u00f3mo impulsar los cambios que mejorar\u00edan las condiciones de los trabajadores.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No s\u00f3lo avanzamos en los problemas que hemos identificado, sino que apoyamos a otras organizaciones en la defensa de los problemas que han identificado, que pueden tener un alcance distinto al nuestro pero que, no obstante, afectan a los trabajadores. Este a\u00f1o, el Centro para los Derechos Laborales se uni\u00f3 a la Coalici\u00f3n de Trabajadores Dom\u00e9sticos de California (CDWC), y firm\u00f3 para apoyar su proyecto de ley, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/leginfo.legislature.ca.gov\/faces\/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=202320240SB686\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SB 686<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">que tiene como objetivo mejorar los derechos laborales de los trabajadores dom\u00e9sticos mediante la ampliaci\u00f3n de los requisitos de salud y seguridad para el trabajo dom\u00e9stico.
