2014 – A Year We Will Remember

Dear Friends,

I am sad to see 2014 come to a close.  In this year, the Center for Workers’ Rights went from a dream to a respected legal service organization. Since opening in September, we’ve assisted 75 workers with their workplace issues, won 100% of our administrative hearings, trained 13 law student advocates, involved 14 volunteer attorneys, and held 5 workers’ rights clinics. More importantly, we’ve created an organization that is pushing for the rights of low-wage workers in the Sacramento area and is ready to assist the community with issues large and small.

2014 was about our founding; 2015 will be about our sustainability. We have a clear vision for improving workplace conditions for local workers, but we need the resources to be able to achieve those goals. In just four months we’ve nearly reached full-capacity for the number of workers we can assist each week.  In order to increase our services, we need to expand our organization.  Please consider making a donation to support our vision.

I also want to thank you for helping fulfill my greatest dream. An email cannot express my true appreciation for everyone who has shown support for me and for the founding of the Center for Workers’ Rights. I am so thankful for the organization we have created and proud of what the Center for Workers’ Rights has done.  Let’s build on the dream in 2015!

Yours very truly,

Daniela Urban
