Exciting Leadership Transition at CWR

After a decade of remarkable leadership, the Center for Workers’ Rights is preparing for an important transition. Our Executive Director and co-founder, Daniela Urban, will be stepping down from the role as we begin the search for new leadership. While Daniela will no longer serve as Executive Director, she will continue to play a vital role at CWR, focusing on our legal programs and services. The new Executive Director will take on overall strategy, management, and growth—leading the organization into its next chapter.

This transition is both exciting and deeply meaningful. My own journey with CWR began in 2015 as a law student in the McGeorge Workers’ Rights Clinic, where I had the privilege of working under Daniela’s supervision. That experience shaped my lifelong commitment to workers’ rights and showed me firsthand the depth of Daniela’s vision for justice. Under her leadership, CWR has grown into a powerful force for worker justice, transforming the lives of low-wage workers across our community. We are profoundly grateful for her dedication and the foundation she has built.

As we look ahead, we are eager to welcome new leadership that will build upon this strong foundation and expand our impact even further. In the coming days, we will be posting the job announcement for the Executive Director role on our website and social media. We invite our community to help us spread the word and connect us with strong candidates who share our commitment to workers’ rights.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support has been, and continues to be, essential to the fight for justice and dignity for all workers.
